Learn about the development of US railroads and how they changed the way folks lived and worked. Discover valuable resources to use to research your railroading ancestors.

Join the Crossroads Discovery crew as we explore railroads.  We'll start with railroad organization, discuss the trains and rails, and the folks that worked to make those trains get to their destinations.  Learn about conductors, brakeman, porters, station agents and the many others that made their living from the rails.  It wasn't all glamorous travel, it could be dangerous, dirty work.  Curious about your own ancestor? We will also cover the resources you can use to research your relatives that "rode the rails" to work.
