Ignite Studio ClassroomLearn about full-color printing for photography with the Riso.
Learn how to use four drums to simulate the "CMYK" printing offered by full-color printers. This workshop will show you how to use Photoshop and our available ink drums to create a four-color print edition to replicate full color photographs. Walk away with prints of your photo, a photo from others in the print exchange at the end of the workshop, and resources that will outline how to replicate the process independently. Some computer skills are required.
Please come with a photo file you would like to use for the workshop. Work stations with Photoshop will be provided, but if you have your own laptop with Photoshop please feel free to bring it with you.
The Risograph is a piece of printmaking equipment that looks like a photocopier but is actually a stencil duplicator. It takes your original art and uses it to create a stencil, then uses that stencil to make prints in beautiful, vibrant, eco-friendly inks. The Riso was originally used for offices and schools, but is now a champion of printmakers and small presses everywhere.
Riso beginners to experts are welcome to take this but having gone through Riso Basics will help! All materials provided. Registration opens two weeks prior to workshop date. Ages 16+.
