Using an Meta Quest 2 VR headset, you will discover a world beyond sight on a journey lasting 30-45 minutes. Registration is required due to the limited number of devices and after you submit your registration, a library staff member will contact you to schedule your 45-minute time slot at 5pm, 6pm, or 7pm. Please provide both email and phone when registering. Participants must sign a waiver of liability prior to using the equipment, and a librarian will provide a brief introduction if you’ve never used a VR headset before.
“In 1983, after decades of steady deterioration, John Hull became totally blind. To help him make sense of the upheaval in his life, he began documenting his experiences on audio cassettes. These original diary recordings create the basis of this interactive non-fictional narrative which is a cognitive and emotional experience of blindness.” —Description from meta.com/experiences
