Noblesville
Youth Services Small Program RoomJoin kids across the state to read, and discuss the nominees for the Young Hoosier Book Award!
This homeschool focused book club will read selected titles from the 2025-2026 Intermediate Young Hoosier Book Award nominee list from August 2025 to April 2026. Participants will then vote for their choice to win the award in the Intermediate category!
Titles from the Intermediate nominee list are aimed at kids in Grades 3-5 (Ages 8-11). Kids are encouraged to come each month but it is not required! We will not be able to read through the entire list by April so feel free to read books that are on the list but not chosen for the club on your own time as well.
Books will be available for pickup at the start of each month for new participants or at meetings for participants who plan on attending the next month's meeting. Each meeting will feature a book discussion and an activity!

The August selection is: Dogtown by Katherine Applegate and Gennifer Choldenko. Registration opens on July 1st. Books will be available starting August 1st.
Dogtown is a shelter for stray dogs, misbehaving dogs, and discarded robot dogs, whose owners have outgrown them. Chance, a real dog, has been in Dogtown since her owners unwittingly left her with irresponsible dog-sitters who skipped town. Metal Head is a robot dog who dreams of being back in a real home.
