ABOUT USING THE LIBRARY GET INVOLVED
Make a Victorian Puzzle Purse card for you or someone you love.
Flat paper boxes have a long history dating back to pre-feudal Japan as "tatogami" to store small items or other ephemera. In the 1700's in colonial America and England they began to become a meaningful way to send love letters. Learn the intricate craft of “letterlocking” - defined as “the act of folding and securing an epistolary writing substrate to function as its own envelope or sending device” - and the decorations that are typical to the craft in this workshop. All materials provided. Registration begins two weeks prior to class. Ages 13+.
