Meeting Rooms- East/Center/StageJoin us for a cozy book-loving gathering where you can bring up to two gently used books to trade with fellow readers, then enjoy coffee provided by local vendor Bedrock Coffee. Registration required.
Join us for HEPL's first Book Swap Café, a community-centered event designed to bring book lovers together to share books, discover new reads, and connect with one another in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Each participant may bring up to two gently used books to contribute to the swap. To ensure that the collection remains current and appealing, donated books should have been published within the past 10 years and be in good, clean condition.
Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the event to check in your swap books. Upon arrival, patrons will check in and have their books reviewed for the swap criteria by HEPL staff. Books will then become part of the community swap collection, giving participants an opportunity to browse, exchange, and take home books that interest them. The goal is to create a fun, low-pressure experience where everyone can leave with something new to read while giving their previously enjoyed books another life.
Following the book exchange, participants will move into the room next door, where they can enjoy coffee provided by local vendor Bedrock Coffee, as well as a selection of pastries. This portion of the event will provide an informal social setting for patrons to talk about books, authors, genres, and reading experiences, while also getting to know other members of the community.
Registration is required.
This event is made possible by generous support from the Friends of the Library.
