ABOUT USING THE LIBRARY GET INVOLVED
Celebrate African American books and authors by listening to or reading aloud books written by Black authors.
All members of our community are invited to participate in the National African American Read-In (AARI). Participants can sign up to read excerpts from books written by Black authors or simply drop in anytime to listen. The books can range from nonfiction to poetry or novels. Participants are encouraged to pick a selection that they have a connection with. Selections read aloud should be appropriate for all ages. We will have books available for those who don't have a prepared piece but wish to participate. This session is intended for high schoolers and adults. See the African American Read-In: Kids' Edition for details on the session featuring literature for babies to middle schoolers.
