Ignite Studio will host its second annual Make-Off. Selected artists will compete to make an original piece of art related to Ignite equipment, kits or other in-house materials to highlight the creative possibilities involved in making. Artists will be given 6 hours to complete a work of art which will culminate in the awarding of monetary prizes. Patrons will be able to watch the process of creating art, take part in hands-on activities and participate in a patron art challenge. This year’s theme is abstract art: using the building blocks of art. Make your way to Ignite for an exciting and fun day!

Free art kits for the first 50 patrons!
Gelli plate printing: Use Gelli plates, stencils, and shape stamps to make monotype prints. Gelli plate printing is fun and easy for all ages! Follow step-by-step directions to make multi-layered abstract art. Ages 6+.
Neurographic notebooks: Using lines and color, design a cover for a personal notebook. Ages 6+
Follow along to a Creativebug video: Creativebug, an eResource database that all HEPL cardholders have free access to, is full of fun and informative arts classes. Stop by at the top of the hour every hour for "One Square at a Time: Making Art on a Grid" by Lisa Congdon. Learn how to level up your abstract art compositions. Ages 8+.
Participate in our Public Maker Challenge(registration required) from 11am-1pm.
