ABOUT USING THE LIBRARY GET INVOLVED
For Disability Awareness Month, join us for Notes on Blindness, an award-winning narrative virtual reality experience.
Using an Meta Quest 2 VR headset, you will discover a world beyond sight on a journey lasting 30-45 minutes. Registration is required due to the limited number of devices. Two identical sessions are offered; if this one if full, there may be spots in the 5:30pm session. Participants must sign a waiver of liability prior to using the equipment, and a librarian will provide a brief introduction if you've never used a VR headset before.
"In 1983, after decades of steady deterioration, John Hull became totally blind. To help him make sense of the upheaval in his life, he began documenting his experiences on audio cassettes. These original diary recordings create the basis of this interactive non-fictional narrative which is a cognitive and emotional experience of blindness." -Description from meta.com/experiences
